With a career spanning education, aviation, and aeronautical science, Richard provides personalized flight instruction, aircraft ferry services, transition training, and aviation consulting with a strong emphasis on professionalism, safety, and lifelong learning. Richard has called Nevada home since 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2001 before pursuing his lifelong passion for aviation. He completed his flight training in Reno, earning his private pilot certificate in 2006 and continuing to add advanced ratings and certificates throughout his career, all while flying in the unique environment of Northern Nevada. Education has always been central to Richard's professional life. In 2012, he earned a Master of Aeronautical Science with a specialization in Educational Technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Before transitioning into aviation full time, Richard spent more than 20 years as a professional educator, an experience that continues to shape his structured, patient, and practical approach to teaching pilots of all experience levels. Richard believes aviation is about more than earning certificates or building flight time. His goal is to help pilots become knowledgeable, confident, and thoughtful aviators who are prepared to make sound decisions both in the cockpit and on the ground. Whether working with a new student, helping an experienced pilot transition into a different aircraft, ferrying an airplane across the country, or consulting with an aircraft owner, he is committed to providing personalized service and building lasting professional relationships. Giving back to aviation has always been important to Richard. He served for four years with the Civil Air Patrol as Deputy Commander for Senior Members, Aircraft Manager, and Aerospace Education Officer. Today, he continues that commitment as an FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Representative and as the General Aviation representative to the Reno-Tahoe Airport Sustainability Advisory Council helping promote aviation safety while supporting positive relationships between general aviation and the local community. Outside of aviation, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, Emma, and their two adult children. He is also an avid runner, cyclist, nature enthusiast, and former aircraft owner.
